Abstract

V magistrskem delu smo podrobneje raziskali izbrane slikanice, jih analizirali in sestavili učne priprave za poučevanje tujega jezika angleščine s pomočjo slikanic. V teoretičnem delu magistrskega dela smo preučili slikanice, spoznali oblike in tipe slikanic. Prav tako smo še podrobneje raziskali uporabo slikanic pri učenju in poučevanju tujega jezika v otroštvu, razloge za in proti, kriterije za izbor in dejavnosti z uporabo slikanic. Preučili smo tudi že obstoječe raziskave. V empiričnem delu magistrskega dela smo opravili podrobno analizo šestih slikanic ter zanje spisali podrobne učne priprave, ki bodo v pomoč tako učiteljem razrednega pouka kot učiteljem tujega jezika, ki poučujejo v 1. VIO OŠ. Pri podrobni in obsežni analizi smo se opirali na prilagojene kriterije za izbor slikanice pri pouku tujega jezika v otroštvu in preverili, v kolikšni meri analizirane slikanice izpolnjujejo kriterije. Analiza je pokazala, da smo izbrali kakovostne slikanice, tako po sami vsebini kot tudi po ilustracijah in sporočilni vrednosti. Ugotovili smo, da so vse preučevane slikanice primerne za učenje in poučevanje tujega jezika v otroštvu, saj vključujejo bogato tuje jezikovno besedišče, omogočajo medpredmetno povezovanje z ostalimi učni predmeti, imajo tudi velik izobraževalni potencial. Slikanice so zakladnica različnih pomembnih življenjskih vrednot.

Secondary title: The use of picturebooks as tools for foreign language learning in primary schools
Secondary abstract: In the master's thesis we have studied picture books in more detail, analysed them and developed lesson plans for a foreign language teaching with the help of picture books. The theoretical part of the master's thesis introduces types of picture books, its characteristics, and benefits. Furthermore, the use of picture books in learning and teaching a foreign language in the childhood is presented; the reasons for and against its use, the selection criteria, activities/tasks for using them. The existing resources and studies were examined. In the empirical part of the master's thesis, we analysed six picture books and wrote detailed lesson plans for them. They will help both primary school teachers and foreign language teachers who teach in the 1st educational period of primary school. In the detailed and extensive analysis, we relied on the adjusted criteria for the selection of picture books in foreign language teaching in the childhood and checked the extent to which the analysed picture books meet the criteria. The analysis showed that quality picture books were chosen, both in terms of content and illustrations, and also in the value of their message. The analysis showed that all the studied picture books were suitable for learning and teaching a foreign language in the childhood, as they include a rich foreign language vocabulary, enable interdisciplinary connections with other school subjects and have a great educational potential. Picture books are a treasure chest of various important life values.
