Abstract

Secondary abstract: Lexemes with negative evaluative connotations are the most direct way of expressing a negative attitude towards something. The article shows how Slovene dictionary writing deals with lexemes of this kind, in particular with regard to origin and what is thematised. A comparison of negatively qualified lexemes in two dictionaries - the older SSKJ and the newer SNB, reveal some of the temporal characteristics of these lexemes.
