Abstract

Secondary title: Synthesis of Pincer Lignads and their Complexes with Transition Metals
Secondary abstract: The master thesis dealt with the synthesis of NCN pincer ligands and further investigated the influence of methyl- and ethylamine functional groups in the ligands and the differences between the two groups. After successful synthesis and isolation of the ligands, I synthesized NCN pincer complexes with palladium. The main problem in preparing the complexes was the instability of the reagents and products in the air, so the isolated compounds were not pure and the yields were poor. Butyllithium and Pd(SEt2)2Cl2 proved to be the most suitable reagents.
