Abstract

V svetu nastaja vedno več odpadnih snovi in velik delež tega je tudi odpadnih plinov. Zato je zelo pomembno stremeti k rešitvam, s katerimi bomo v čim večji meri zmanjševali odpadne snovi. Ponovna proizvodnja odpadnih plinov v procesih je ena od možnih rešitev, saj bomo s tem prispevali k manjši porabi surovin in čistejšemu okolju. Eden izmed teh odpadnih plinov je tudi ogljikov monoksid, ki nastaja pri nepopolnem gorenju ogljikovodikov. Proizvodnja glikolne kisline poteka iz formaldehida in ogljikovega monoksida, ki ga dobimo z uplinjanjem plastike. Velika prednost te proizvodnje je, da zmanjšujemo izpuste tega odpadnega plina in z njim pridobimo glikolno kislino. Namen diplomske naloge je pridobiti glikolno kislino iz odpadnega plina in simulirati proces glikolne kisline ter določiti optimalne pogoje procesa z največjo učinkovitostjo. Simulacija procesa proizvodnje glikolne kisline je simulirana v računalniškem programu Aspen Plus. Rezultati so pokazali, da se dejanski proces da izboljšati iz kemijskega in ekonomskega vidika.

Secondary title: Glycolic acid production from waste gases
Secondary abstract: More and more waste is generated and a large proportion of this are also waste gases. That is why it is very important to strive for solutions taht will reduce these waste materials as much as possible. Reproduction of these waste gases in processes is a great solution and a great advantage in the future, as it will contribute to lower consumption of raw material and a cleaner environment. One of these waste gases is carbon monoxide, whic is formed durin the incomplete burning of hydrocarbons. The production of glycolic acid is made from formaldehyde and carbon monoxide, whic is obtained by gasification of plastic. The biggest advantage of this production is that we reduce the emissions of this waste gas and obtain glycolic acid from it. The porpuse of the diploma thesis is to present how to obtain glycolic acid from waste gases and simulate the process of glycolic acid. Then how to determine the optimal process conditions for maximum process efficiency. The simulation of the glycolic acid production process is simulated in the computer program Aspen Plus. The results showed that the starting process can be improved from chemical and economical standpoint.
