Nowadays, with improved technology and a better standard of living, there are more and more cars and vehicles in general. Despite the advanced speed detection technology, proximity sensors, etc., however, scientists in the field of road safety have not yet regulated the possibility of predicting wildlife collisions. In Slovenia, an average of 18,000 traffic accidents occur every year, some of them due to wildlife collisions.
The aim of the master's thesis is to propose preventive measures for the prevention of traffic accidents involving wildlife on the basis of established practices in Slovenia and abroad on motorways, and main and regional roads.
The master's thesis presents the legislation of the European Union and Slovenia, road traffic and road safety, wildlife, and existing preventive measures at home and abroad. In the last chapter, on the basis of already existing measures abroad, preventive measures are proposed for the prevention of traffic accidents with wildlife at various locations in Slovenia. |
