diplomsko delo
Abstract
Z izvedbo štirih obsežnih celodopoldanskih dejavnostih sem ob pomoči lovcev iz lovske družine Mengeš otrokom poskušala približati delo lovca in njegovo vlogo v današnjem prostoru in času.

Preschool children’s perception of hunters and hunting |
Secondary abstract: |
The thesis entitled Preschool children’s perception of hunters and hunting consists of a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, I focused on different factors that could have an impact on preschool children’s perception of the researched topic. These factors are changes about the role of hunting in the past, hunting customs, media, and lastly preschool children’s literature containing the character of a hunter. I also tried to find and define parallels between the Kindergarten Curriculum and activities associated with hunting and hunters’ tasks.
In the empirical part, I researched the perception about hunters and hunting of preschool children before and after establishing active teaching methods so that we can ascertain if and how to use methods in order to change their shaped perception.
Children’s perceptions were gained through semi-structured “one-on-one” interviews before and after the implemented educational activities. With the support of two hunters, I elaborated and carried out four all-afternoon activities presenting the hunter’s tasks and role nowadays. Thirteen children from the Žabica Trzin Kindergarten aged between 4 and 6 years participated in the non-random sampling.
After activities I also interviewed children's kindergarten teacher how she viewed them through her perspective and asked her about possible improvements. Beside that the empirical part also includes research about prejudice on hunters and frequency of their activities in school and kindergarten based on two in-depth interviews with the two of them that played part in diploma formation.
The results of the research showed that planned activities involving active teaching methods impact the preschool children’s perception about hunters and hunting. In comparison with the first interview, children answered more questions correctly, listed more options, and used correct terminology in the second interview. |
