Abstract

Raziskovalno vprašanje (RV): Ali se vršni in srednji menedžerji v slovenski avtomobilski industriji odločajo na podlagi intuicije in v kolikšni meri, kaj so komponente in kaj pomembni vplivni faktorji intuitivnega odločanja vršnih in srednjih menedžerjev v slovenski avtomobilski industriji ? Namen: U gotoviti prisotnost intuitivnega odločanja pri vršnih in srednjih menedžerjih v slovenski avtomobilski industriji, ugotoviti vpliv njihovih vedenjskih kompetenc in čustvene inteligence na intuitivno odločanje, ugotoviti njihovo stopnjo intuitivnosti ter na osnovi izvedenega teoretičnega in empiričnega raziskovanja izoblikovati komponente in vplivne faktorje modela voditeljskih kompetenc intuitivnega odločanja. Metoda: Kvantitativni raziskovalni pristop z uporabo anketnega vprašalnika kot primarnega merskega inštrumenta s sledečo strukturo: (1) demografija, (2) čustvena inteligenca (SSEIT % Schutte Self - report Emotional Intelligence Test), (3) stili odločanja (GDMS % General Decision Making Style) in (4) intuitivnost (AIM Survey % Agor Intuitive Management Survey). Statističn a obdelava podatkov raziskave je bila izvedena s pomočjo programa SPSS verzija 21 in MS Excel verzija 2007, oblikovanje modela pa je bilo izvedeno s pomočjo programa Pajek verzija 3. Glavne metode za obdelavo podatkov raziskave so bile: opisna statistika, faktorska analiza, regresijska analiza in analiza variance. Rezultati: Rezultati izvedene kvantitativne raziskave so pokazali, da respondente v raziskavi k pomembnim odločitvam pogosto usmerja intuicija (79,3 % se jih odloča intuitivno) , statistično značilne razlike pa se pojavljajo (1) glede na spol , in sicer se ženske v povprečju odločajo nekoliko bolj intuitivno kot moški, in (2) glede na vodstvene izkušnje, pri čemer so anketiranci z najmanj vodstvenimi izkušnjami mnenja, da jih ne u smerja intuicija, medtem ko vsi ostali menijo, da jih usmerja intuicija (takih je več kot tri četrtine). Ugotovitev raziskave glede vedenjskih kompetenc je, da le - te nimajo statistično pomembnega vpliva na intuitivno odločanje ; enako velja za čustveno inte ligenco. Pomembnejša ugotovitev raziskave glede stopnje intuitivnosti je, da imajo anketiranci relativno visoko intuitivnost, saj je dosežen povprečni rezultat 7,1 od 12 možnih točk. Pri tem je pomembna tudi ugotovitev, da se stopnja intuitivnosti viša z l eti vodstvenih izkušenj ter s stopnj o izobrazbe. Organizacija: Izvedena raziskava in pričujoča doktorska disertacija predstavljata pomemben doprinos k novim spoznanjem na področju menedžmenta in upravljanja organizacij, saj z vzpostavljenim modelom intuit ivnega odločanja vršnih in srednjih menedžerjev v slovenski avtomobilski industriji nosi ta potencialno praktično (aplikativno) dodano vrednost na področju upravljanja menedžerskih kadrov tako na področju avtomobilske industrije kot tudi sicer. Družba: Pos tavljena so temeljna izhodišča za nadaljnje poglobljene in ciljno usmerjene raziskave tudi za druga sorodna področja družbe. Originalnost: Originalnost izvedene raziskave in doktorske disertacije opredeljuje dejstvo, da v dostopni domači in tuji znanstveni literaturi ni moč zaslediti raziskave, ki bi vključevala elemente uporabljene operacionalizacije (preučevanje odnosa med voditeljskimi kom petencami in intuitivn i m odločanj em ) , kot je to primer v pričujoči raziskavi, kar nedvomno potrjuje njeno originalnost. Omejitve/nadaljnje raziskovanje: Omejitve doktorske disertacije so opredeljene v okviru: (1) Omejitev zmožnosti podajanja celovitega t eoretično retrospektivnega pregleda posameznih obravnavanih področij v okviru teoretičnega dela raziskave. (2) Uporaba standardiziranih merskih inštrumentov tujega izvora in potencialne razlike med okolj em, v katerem so merski inštrumenti bili zasnovani , i n okoljem , v katerem so merski inštrumenti bili uporabljeni. (3) Omej ene zmožnosti prevodov merskih inštrumentov za besede, besedne zveze in fraze v izvornih anketnih vprašalnikih , za katere ne obstajajo adekvatni slovenski prevodi. (4) Uporaba metode Paje k, ki se je v preteklih raziskavah uporabljala predvsem na področju naravoslovnih ved in pri ugotavljanju mreženj, medtem ko uporaba navedene metode pri kvantitatvini raziskavi predstavlja relativno novost.

Secondary abstract: Research Question (RQ): Does the top and middle management in Slovenian automotive industry make decisions based on intui tion and if yes, to what extent , what are the components and what are the important influential factors of intuitive decision - making by top and middle managers in Slovenian automotive industry? Purpose: Identify the presence of inuitive decision - making by top and middle managers in Slovenian automotive industry, identify the influence of their behavioural competencies and emotional intelligence on intuitive decision - making, identify their level of intuit iveness and on the basis of theoretical and empirical research establish competencies and factors of the model of leadership competencies based on intuitive decision - making. Method: A quantitative research approach using a questionnaire, as a primary in strument to measure, contains the following structure: (1.) demography, (2.) emotional intelligence (SSEIT % Schutte Self - report Emotional Intelligence Test), (3.) decision - making styles (GDMS % General Decision Making Style), and (4) intuitiveness (AIM Survey % Agor Intuitive Management Survey). Statistical data analysis was carried out using the SPSS program version 21 and MS Excel version 2007 and the model was created using the program Pajek version 3. The following main methods were used for research data a nalysis: descriptive statistics, factor analysis, regression analysis and variance analysis. Results: Results of the performed quantitative research show that respondents are often directed by intuition when making important decisions (79,3% make decision s based on intuition) while statistically significant differences occur (1.) regarding sex as women on average rely slightly more on intuitive decision - making than men and (2.) regarding leadership experiences respondents with the least leadership experien ces think they are not led by intution while all other respondents think they are led by intuition (more than a fourth). The research findings indicate that behavioural competencies do not have any significant impact on intuitive decision - making and the sa me is true for emotional intelligence. Another more significant research finding shows a relatively high level of intuitiveness as the average result is 7,1 out of 12 points. Moreover, the research indicates that level of inuitiveness increases with years of leadership experiences and with higher level of education. Organization: The performed research and the present doctoral thesis represent a significant contribution to new knowledge in the field of management and administration of companies as through implemented model of intuitive decision - making of top and middle managers in Slovenian automotive industry they involve a potential practical (applied) value added in respect of management personnel administration in the automotive industry and in other se ctors. Society: Raises fundamental starting point for further in - depth and targeted research to other related areas of society. Originality: Originality of the research and doctoral thesis is featured by the fact that there is no domestic or foreign scientific literature available to demonstrate any research comprising elements of operationalisation (examination of relationship between leadership competencies and intuitive decision - making) used in the present research which confirms its originality. Limitations/Future Research: Limitations of the doctoral thesis are defined in the following contexts: (1.) Limitation of capabilities to give an overall theoretical retrospective review of individual areas covered by theoretical part of the research. (2.) Use of standardized measur ing instruments of foreign origin and occurrence of potential differences between the environment where the measuring instruments were designed and the environment where they have been used. (3) Limitations of capabilities of translation of measuring inst ruments regarding words, collocations and phrases pertaining to original questionnaires for which no adequate Slovenian translations exist. (4.) Use of the method Pajek which was used in the past research mostly in the field of natural science and networ king while its use in the quantitative research represents a relatively new approach.
