magistrsko delo
Abstract

Differences in usage of literary language and dialect of teachers and students in online classes and in the classroom |
Secondary abstract: |
The purpose of the master's thesis was to identify possible differences (regarding to the teachers involved in the research) in the usage of literary language, dialect and duality of students and teachers in online classes and in the classroom, (in)attention to teacher's literary utterance in a classroom and online, and the impact of distance learning on the students' usage of literary language and dialect. The sample included 66 teachers (primary school teachers, first grade educators, and teachers of Slovene language) from Bela krajina primary schools. Due to variables measured on the ordinal level, the Wilcoxon test (non-parametric test) was used to identify differences in the usage of literary language and dialect in online classes and classes in the classroom. Statistically significant differences were identified in students' language usage at school and online. Regardless of teachers' efforts, who used literary language and duality equally throughout distance learning and reminded students of literary utterance, students used more non-literary language and less duality compared to classes in classroom. Differences are noticeable especially in literary language, because of lack of motivation, different learning environment and lack of social contacts during distance learning. |
