Abstract

Pregled literature smo izvedli v mednarodnih podatkovnih bazah: PubMed, CINAHL, SAGE journals in ScienceDirect s pomočjo ključnih besed v angleškem jeziku. Potek iskanja literature smo predstavili v diagramu PRISMA.

Secondary title: Influence of postpartum depression on infant care
Secondary abstract: During the postpartum period, many changes take place in the mother's body, the ultimate goal is to restore such an anatomical, physiological, metabolic and hormonal state as it was before conception. After childbirth, at least one or two women out of ten become depressed. An inadequate mother-child relationship can be one of the most dangerous and overlooked situations, which can have negative consequences for a child’s mental health. A descriptive method of work was used. We used a systematic approach to work with the method of review, analysis and synthesis of medical literature and the method of compilation. The literature review was performed in international databases: PubMed, CINAHL, SAGE journals and ScienceDirect using keywords in English. The course of literature search was presented in the PRISMA diagram. Postpartum depression has a number of direct and indirect negative effects on child development, including reduced quality of the home environment and reduced maternal sensitivity and caring. Therefore, it also seems important to detect and treat postnatal depression as early as possible to avoid harmful consequences.
