Abstract

Secondary title: The conversion of waste plastics into alternative fuels
Secondary abstract: Modern society tends to solve the problem with plastic waste. Therefore, new processes for plastic waste treatment are introduced, whose final products can be reused or used as an alternative fuel. One of these processes is pyrolysis, which is used for obtaining high-calorie products from plastic waste. These products include synthetic gasses, solid carbonized residue and the main product, liquid oil, which can be used as fuel for internal combustion engines. The presented diploma includes updates of the existing pyrolysis device so that it enables to perform the experiments in a protective atmosphere. The liquid products of the updated pyrolysis device, from the two waste polymers, are thoroughly analyzed with the purpose of testing their usability as an alternative fuel.
