Abstract
Metoda: V empiričnem delu naloge smo uporabili mešane metode, in sicer kvantitativni in kvalitat ivni raziskovalni pristop. Zbrane podatke smo statistično obdelali in analizirali s pomočjo programa Microsoft Excel 2007 in programskim paketom R, verzija 3.1.1.

Research Question (RQ): According to employers, are there differences between competences expected from students by employers when they come to a practical training and the actual competences that their employee s currently have. Do the opinions of teachers and employers about actual and expecte d competences among tree - year vocational and four - year professional seco ndary school students and those among the employees in a company differ. Do employers and teachers have the same opinion about the question how teachers could develop a particu lar competence among tree - year vocational and four - year professional secondary school students . How can the integration of the secondary school education and the labour market be strengthen ed. Purpose: The purpose of our research is to find out what are the employers% expectations towards the competences of tree - year vocational and four - year professional secondary school students who enter a company to carry out a practical training there. Method: In the empirical part of the thesis we used mixed methods, that is a quantity and quality research approach. In order to carry out a quality analysis we used a survey metho d. Questionnaires were sent to the employers who take tree - year vocational and four - year professional secondary school students, the educational programs of woodwork, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, to carry out practical training in their com panies. The collected data was statistically analysed with Microsoft Excel 2007 and the software package R, Version 3.1.1. The data was presented with a descriptive statistics, whereas a Wilcox test for pair patterns was used to analyse the differences bet ween actual and expected status. We took into account a 0,05 risk level. The data for a quality analysis was obtained by partially structured and in - depth interviews with teachers and employers. Results: The results of the quality research showed that t here are statistically characteristic differences between actual and expected status for all pair variables because the calculated statistic characteristics is less than 0,05 in all the cases. The results of the quality research showed that the opinions of teachers and employers about actual and expected competences among tree - year vocational and four - year professional secondary school student s and the employees differ. Teachers and employers have different opinions about the importance of practical train ing carried out in employers% companies. Employers and teachers do not have the same opinion on how secondary school teachers could develop working habits among students. Neither do they agree on the possibilities of strengthening the integration of the se condary school education and the labour market. Organis ation: Gained findings can be useful for principals and teachers to identify which areas and competences they have to develop in the future, whereas the school management can get directions f or further discussions with employers about the possibilities of cooperation with an educational institution. Society: A connection between education and labour market is extremely important for the development of economy and society. Originality: Gained findings of the research about expected and actual competences as well as the comparison between teachers% and employers% opinions are original. Limitations/Future Research: The research included the employers from Dolenjska, Bela Krajina and Posa vje who take students of woodwork, civil engineering and mechanical engineering to carry out practical training in their companies . The research was limited on tree - year vocational and four - year professional secondary school student s. This post - graduate thesis offers numerous possibilities of further research, such as the analysis of the gained data according to the organisation size, what deviations from employers% expectations according to the number of employees there are, the employers% expectations a ccording to a particular educational programme and the comparison of those deviations, the deviations that appear in a particular region, the expansion of the research onto professi ons that are human oriented. |
