Abstract

Opredeljene so vizualne zmožnosti umetne in naravne svetlobe oziroma njune pojavnosti s pomočjo svetlobno občutljivih materialov. Fenomen svetlobe in njeni učinki, uporaba svetlobno občutljivih materialov pri oblikovanju prostora svetlobe in pogojevanje gledalčeve zaznave s svetlobo so analizirani na podlagi svetlobnih umetniških del vizualnih umetnikov iz širšega mednarodnega prostora, Marcela Duchampa, Laszla Moholy-Nagyja in Jamesa Turrella ter slovenske umetnice in likovne teoretičarke Uršule Berlot Pompe. Pri njihovem ustvarjanju s svetlobo so nastali stimulativni potopljeni ambienti, kjer je gledalec razsrediščen in aktiviran. Teoretska dognanja o ustvarjanju s svetlobo so sintetizirana v zadnjem, praktičnem delu magistrskega dela, ki predstavlja svojsko idejo o prostoru svetlobe.

Secondary title: Creating Space of Light in Fine Art
Secondary abstract: The master's thesis deals with the creation of a space of light in fine art. Special attention is paid to the impact of scientific discoveries on light on many artists who have tried to play with vision and human perception and to create a holistic viewer experience. Vision is the sense that gives us information about the world and combines sensory perceptions of space in three or four dimensions. For a broader understanding of perception, the thesis analyzes the bipolar symbolism of light and darkness in Plato's famous parable of the cavity from the Book VII Republic. The visual capabilities of artificial and natural light or their appearance are defined with the help of light-sensitive materials. The phenomenon of light and its effects, the use of light-sensitive materials in shaping the space of light and conditioning the viewer's perception with light are analyzed on the basis of light works of visual artists from the wider international space, Marcel Duchamp, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy and James Turrell, and Slovenian artist and art theorist Ursula Berlot Pompe. In their creation with light, stimulating immersion ambiences were created, where the viewer is dispersed and activated. Theoretical findings on creation with light are synthesized in the last, practical part of the master's thesis, which represents a peculiar idea of the space of light.
