Abstract

Secondary title: History of anti-piracy protection in video games
Secondary abstract: Today, we have a large number of media available, such as books, music and film. We find video games in the group of the most successful media. It is known that for every successful videogame franchise, there are large corporations aimed at providing as much income as possible. Individuals who do not want to pay for video games or other media types appear more often as a result. Of course, in such a case, conflicts emerge between the individual and the corporation. In this thesis, we explore how piracy affects the performance of corporations and how corporations fight piracy.
