Abstract

Razvoj delovno-specifičnih kompetenc prepoznavajo v efektivnejšem postavljanju meja v delovnih odnosih, krepitvi organizacijskih in komunikacijskih sposobnosti, efektivnejšemu analiziranju problemov, povečani ravni empatije, razvoju sistemskega razmišljanja in kreativnemu reševanju težav.

Secondary title: The role of supervision in the development of competencies in the work environment
Secondary abstract: The purpose of the master's thesis is to clarify the role of supervision in the development of competencies in the work environment. As supervision is most comprehensive in the social work profession, eleven interviews were conducted in the survey with social workers employed at Centres for Social Work. Research questions focus on the experience of supervision, involvement in the supervision process, work-specific competencies and their development, and assessing the concrete contribution of supervision to changes in the workplace. The results indicate that professionals acknowledged the importance of supervision as an experiential work in social work, more precisely in the practical implementation of supervision solutions. The outcome of the supervision process is distinguished as work relief and support with professional guidance, while strengthening professional and personal competencies. The development of work-specific competencies is comprehended in more effective setting of boundaries in labor relations, strengthening of organizational and communication skills, more effective problem analysis, increased level of empathy, development of systemic thinking and creative problem solving. To the smallest extent, the interviewees developed organizational skills in the context of supervision processes, based on the self-assessments given. The greatest extent of development in the supervision process was achieved by the competencies of readiness for continuous learning and the ability to work in a team.
