diplomsko delo univerzitetnega študijskega programa I. stopnje
Abstract
Diplomsko delo predstavlja rezultate in situ funkcionalizacije poli(pentaeritritol tetrakis(3-merkaptopropionat)-ko-1,6-heksandiol diakrilata) z glicidil metakrilatom in vinilbenzil kloridom. In situ funkcionalizacije smo izvedli s tiol-en klik polimerizacijo v masi in s tiol-en klik polimerizacijo kontinuirne faze emulzije z visokim deležem notranje faze.
Uspešnejši smo bili s funkcionalizacijo z glicidil metakrilatom. Poli(pentaeritritol tetrakis(3-merkaptopropionat)-ko-1,6-heksandiol diakrilat-ko-glicidil metakrilatni) monoliti pripravljeni s polimerizacijo v masi so bili rumeno obarvani, krhki in neporozni. Monoliti sinteze istega kopolimera s polimerizacijo kontinuirne faze emulzije so bili bele barve, rahlo upogibljivi, krhki in porozni.
Eno plast sta predstavljala tetratiol in diakrilat, drugo pa vinilbenzil klorid.

In situ functionalization of porous polythiolenes with functional alkenes |
Secondary abstract: |
The thesis presents the results of in situ functionalization of poly(pentaerythritol tetrakis(3-mercaptopropionate)-co-1,6-hexanediol diacrylate) with glycidyl methacrylate and vinylbenzyl chloride. With glycidyl methacrylate an epoxy functional group was introduced into the polymer which can participate in a number of nucleophilic reactions by opening the ring and thus increase the applicability of the resulting copolymer. The vinylbenzyl chloride functionalized polymer also acquires a new functional group, chloromethyl group, which participates in a number of reactions. In situ functionalizations were performed by thiol-ene click polymerization in bulk and by thiol-ene click polymerization of continuous phase of high internal phase emulsion.
We were more successful with glycidyl methacrylate functionalization. Poly(pentaerythritol tetrakis (3-mercaptopropionate)-co-1,6-hexanediol diacrylate-co-glycidyl methacrylate) monoliths prepared by polymerization in bulk were yellow, brittle and non-porous. The synthesis of the same copolymer by polymerization of the continuous phase of the emulsion produced monoliths which were white, slightly flexible, brittle and porous.
It is important to note that glycidyl methacrylate was incorporated into the polymer chain during in situ functionalization as demonstrated by FTIR spectroscopy and gravimetric analysis. Vinylbenzyl chloride was not included in the polymer chain. The synthesized material was two-layered. One layer was tetrathiol and diacrylate and the other was vinylbenzyl chloride. |
