Abstract

Diplomsko delo predstavlja raziskavo kostumografa, od teoretičnega dela do prototipa, z namenom ustvariti kostum za gledališko igro. Kot inspiracija je bil izbran grški mit o Meduzi. Teoretični del predstavlja antično Grčijo, vključno z umetnostjo in mitologijo tega obdobja. Podana je tudi razčlenitev področja kostumografije in način raziskovanja v oddelku za kostumografijo ter področja, na katera mora biti oblikovalec pozoren med procesom izdelave prototipa kostuma za igro. Praktični del vključuje razvoj krojev kostumov, mask in dodatkov kostuma ter predstavi izdelavo prototipov. Za lik Meduze sta bila izdelana dva kostuma, eden pred njeno preobrazbo in drugi po njej, vsakemu je dodana tudi obrazna maska.

Secondary abstract: The thesis presents the research of a costume designer, from the theoretical work to the prototype, in order to create a costume for a theatre play. The Greek myth of Medusa was chosen as inspiration. The theoretical part introduces Ancient Greece, including the art and mythology of the period. It also introduces the field of costume design, and the way research is carried out in the costume design department, as well as the areas that a designer needs to pay attention to when creating a costume for a play. The practical part involves developing costume patterns, masks, and accessories. Two costumes were created for the character of Medusa, one before and one after the transformation, each with a face mask.
