Abstract

Baker se med drugim uporablja tudi kot 'gradbeni material' (skulpture, žlebovi), zato je mnogokrat izpostavljen različnim naravnim vplivom, kot je denimo kisli dež. Da bi ga zaščitili in s tem podaljšali njegovo življenjsko dobo, se uporabljajo in razvijajo prevleke, ki predstavljajo bariero med materialom in zunanjim agresivnim medijem ter tako upočasnjujejo ali preprečujejo korozijo oziroma razpadanje. Ker mnoge tovrstne prevleke bremenijo okolje, se ponuja možnost zelenih inhibitorjev. Zaradi vsebnosti polifenolov bi lahko bil to tudi šipkov ekstrakt. Diplomsko delo prikazuje študijo inhibicijskih lastnosti prevlek na bakru, ki so bile produkt potopitvene metode v različne koncentracije (0,5, 1,0, 1,5 in 2,0%) šipkovega ekstrakta v 0,05 M etanolni raztopini stearinske kisline. Za proučevanje korozijske obstojnosti samosestavljivih prevlek na površini bakra je bila izbrana elektrokemijska potenciodinamska metoda s simulirano obliko kislega dežja (pri pH-vrednostih 1, 3 in 5) kot korozijskim medijem. Sledili sta analiza površine delcev, ki se je izvedla na podlagi opazovanja pod svetlobnim mikroskopom, in FTIR-analiza, s katero se je skušalo dokazati prisotnost spojin samosestavljive prevleke. Rezultati so pokazali najboljše inhibicijske lastnosti prevleke, izgrajene s potopitvijo v mešanico 0,05 M raztopine stearinske kisline in 2 % šipkovega olja. V primeru nakisanja kislega dežja na vrednost pH = 5 je takšna prevleka nudila 100% učinkovitost. Inhibicijska učinkovitost se tudi v primeru ostalih prevlek in drugih pH-vrednosti agresivnega medija ni znižala pod 95 %.

Secondary abstract: Copper is used, among other things, as a building material and is often exposed to various environmental factors, such as acid rain. In order to protect the material and thus prolong its life, coatings are used and developed to form a barrier between the material and the external aggressive medium, thus slowing or preventing corrosion or degradation of the material. However, since many of these coatings pollute the environment, the possibility of green inhibitors application presents itself, where we can also classify a rosehip extract due to its polyphenol content. The thesis presents a study on the inhibitory properties of the coating on copper formed by immersion in different concentrations of rosehip extract in 0.05M stearic acid solution. For the study, we used the electrochemical potentiodynamic method with a simulated solution of acid rain at different pH values (1, 3 and 5) as the aggressive medium. This was followed by particle surface analysis viewed under optical microscope and by recording of FTIR spectrum to determine the details of the molecular structure of the coating. The results showed the best inhibitory properties for the coating formed by immersion in a 2% solution of rosehip oil. At the pH of 5 of the aggressive medium, such a coating provided even 100% efficiency. The efficiencies of other coatings at other pH values of the aggressive medium showed very good results as well, since the inhibitory effect never fell below 95 % in any case.
