Abstract

Pomemben del vsake družbe so mladi odrasli. Z intervjuji sem preučevala, kako mladi odrasli v Sloveniji in Južni Koreji dojemajo delo, katera čustva občutijo ob delu in kako so se ta krojila v času pandemije.

Secondary title: Meaning of Work for Young Adults During the Pandemic of Covid-19 in Slovenia and South Korea
Secondary abstract: Young adults are an important part of every society. Those are adults, who are still involved in the segments of life attributed to youth, but are at the same time also independent in some segments ascribed to adulthood. Young adults are individuals who are at the beginning of their careers but live in a time where job search is more difficult than it has been in previous generations, as globalization is making the labor market even more competitive. How young adults view work, and how this view is shaped through a worldwide phenomenon, epedemic of COVID-19, is an essential topic of my research. In my dissertation, I want to explore what the meaning of work is for young adults and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected their perception of work. Through interviews, I explored how young adults in Slovenia and South Korea perceive work, what emotions they feel at work and how these were changed during the pandemic. The interviews were the starting point for the surveys, through which I was able to explore in more detail how the importance of work differs for young adults in two very culturally different countries.
