Abstract

Secondary title: Development of a device for testing communication and power supply between the electric meter and communication module
Secondary abstract: In the process of developing new devices, it is crucial to quickly and easily test their assemblies. In the company Iskraemeco, d.d., there was a need for a dedicated device, to facilitate testing of communication between the electric meter and its communication module. The master’s thesis describes the development of such a device from design to testing. The device can be controlled by a Raspberry Pi microcomputer or a personal computer. Via the device it is possible to monitor and modify the UART communication, monitor voltage and current values, control and monitor control signals and program the electric meter. The master’s thesis also describes the program code in the Python and C programming languages, that was used to test the device.
