Abstract

Osebni podatki so temelj upravljanja s človeškimi viri. Tehnologija izboljšuje in olajša poslovanje in delovanje organizacije. V tem prispevku bo avtor opredelil Zakon o varstvu osebnih podatkov na Hrvaškem in poskušal izpostaviti njegove prednosti in slabosti v odnosu do organizacij.

Secondary title: The use and protection of personal data in the context of organizational and security culture of a company in digital environment
Secondary abstract: Personal data is the foundation of human resources management. It is precisely because of this fact that it is of utmost importance for each organisation to successfully manage the personal data of its members. Under successful management, conscientious use and protection of them is considered, as well as the creation of a safe working environment. Technology improves and facilitates the business and operation of the organization. Accordingly, every organization, both in the production and data collection process, must keep up with the competition. It is important to note that in accordance with the growth of business technology, organizations must also improve security against attacks. Taking into account the threats that ignorance and inadequate use of technology brings with it, it is of utmost importance to develop a security culture as a basis for strengthening and developing the organization. This claim relates mainly to the security of personal data of members, employees, but also clients. The Author will also deal with social networks and media that affect members of the organization by collecting and disseminating information. It should be emphasized that this is not a problem of strictly the business environment, but also of the private one. Various disinformation and tools for forming opinions can greatly influence thoughts and actions within the organization. An individual who succumbs to influence can spread misinformation and beliefs in an organization like a virus. These threats could be averted by properly educating the members of the organization on protection from malicious external influences. Self-regulation of markets and social networks is inadequate, and entities of international Law must take their role to the full, especially in the digital world. The Author will deal with the legal segment of the problem in terms of a law that is unable to track technology. This segment is interesting because laws are simply not able to react quickly to changes in technology to prevent its misuse. In this paper, the author will define the Law on the Protection of Personal Data in Croatia and try to expose its advantages and disadvantages in relation to organizations.
