Abstract

Secondary title: Automation upgrade of the floor line for paper transport
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis presents the rework of the floor line, which is used in a paper company to transport paper rolls to the warehouse. The performed rework will make the work easier, especially for the operators, as they will be able to monitor the entire operation using the user panel or a supervisory system on the computer, which was not possible before the rework. The thesis describes the hardware and software upgrades of the floor line. The upgrade of the line was divided into three main steps, namely hardware upgrade, software upgrade and visualization of floor line operation. Only Siemens hardware and software were used in the rework. The hardware upgrade of the system is intended for the installation of programable logic controllers, input-output modules, operator panels, frequency converters and power supplies. The software upgrade of the system is intended for the development of control algorithms that ensure the proper operation of the floor line. The program for line management is written in Simatic Manager programming environment in FBD programming language. After the upgrade, the floor line can operate in three different operation modes, i.e., automatic, manual or service mode. The visualization of the line operation was intended for creation of appropriate displays on operator panel and in supervisory system (SCADA), which enables the operator to observe the operation of the line on both devices. After the completion of the project, the correct operation of the system was tested using a special simulation plate, which simulates the inputs of the controller. It was found that the control and supervision of the reworked floor line works properly and will soon be installed on the real system. The whole project was carried out without any major problems.
