Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo izdelali sistem za brezizgubno stiskanje slik. Navedli smo bistvene lastnosti standarda JPEG 2000. Opisali smo metode stiskanja BASC, Golombovo kodiranje in aritmetično kodiranje. Implementiran sistem prejme rastrsko sliko, ki jo stisne z izgubnim načinom formata JPEG 2000, jo dekodira in izračuna razlike med njima. Razlike nato stisne z metodo BASC, Golombovim kodiranjem ter aritmetičnim kodiranjem. Sistem smo testirali z različnimi slikami in rezultate primerjali s formatoma PNG ter JPEG 2000 v brezizgubnem načinu.

Secondary title: Lossless compression of raster images with prediction from lossily compressed images
Secondary abstract: An experimental system for lossless image compression is considered in this thesis. The essential features of the JPEG 2000 standard were given at first. Binary Adaptive Sequential Coding, Golomb coding, and arithmetic coding were briefly described after that. The system accepts a raster image, compresses it loosely with JPEG 2000, decompresses it, and calculates the diffrences between original and the reconstructed image. These diffrences are then encoded with either BASC, Golomb or arithmetic coding. The system was tested with different images, results were compared with PNG and lossless JPEG 2000.
