Abstract

Secondary title: Simulation of a SCADA system for a building
Secondary abstract: The thesis describes the creation of a SCADA system simulation for the DB Schenker building in Ljubljana. The SCADA system would be used to control and regulate room temperature, control outdoor and indoor lighting, control ventilation, control charging stations for electric cars, data archiving, report generation and visualization, and a graphical interface to facilitate central building management. The system is just a simulation, without hardware components, made completely with the zenon Software Platform. The purpose of the project is to showcase the possibility of creating a SCADA system for building management using the zenon Software Platform. The first part describes the idea and reason why such systems are useful and why they are potentially very important for a future in which more and more people will live in urban environments. It also describes the possibility of energy saving and usefulness of data collection for research purposes. A model of a system which simulates the change in room temperature, is also described. The second part focuses on the practical presentation of the project and the presentation of all the functionalities that the project contains.
