diplomsko delo

Abstract

Secondary title: Dance activities for preschool children in a private dance school
Secondary abstract: The paper consists of theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical one, dance and its significance for the preschool child is defined and presented in detail. We focused on planning dance activities, based on the dance goals and objectives taken from the kindergarten curriculum and the curriculum for dance teacher trainees. We looked for similarities as well as differences. We also presented different approaches and models for performing dance activities, which we later used in the empirical part of the paper. It includes eight dance activities that we performed with preschool children at the Plohl Dance Studio. At the same time, children did a performance for their parents. Dance activities are prepared in such a way that they can be used in various additional afternoon programmes as well as in the regular curriculum of public kindergartens in Slovenia. The role of an educator is extremely important while preparing dance activities and implementing them into the syllabus. It depends on adults how we present tasks to children and motivate them, because they are innately eager for knowledge and active involvement in activities.
