Pregled evropskih lakot v 19. stoletju

Abstract

Diplomsko delo se osredotoča na vse pomembnejše lakote, ki so pestile Evropo v 19. stoletju v kronološkem zaporedju. Pregled zajema leto brez poletja 1816; krompirjevo lakoto na Irskem in z njo povezano krompirjevo lakoto na Škotskem; lakoto na Finskem in z njo povezano lakoto na Švedskem; ter lakoto v Rusiji. Na koncu je storjen še kratek pregled lakot in pomanjkanj, ki so bremenile slovensko področje v 19. stoletju. Pregled vsake lakote skuša predstaviti njihovo kompleksnost in ponazoriti, da vzroki in posledice niso tako enoznačni, kot se zdijo na prvi pogled.

Secondary abstract:	The thesis places its focus on all important famines that plagued Europe in the 19th century in chronological order. The overview covers the year without a summer 1816; the potato famine in Ireland and related potato famine in Scotland; the famine in Finland and related famine in Sweden; and the famine in Russia. Finally, a brief overview was made of the famines and food shortages that burdened the Slovenian territory in the 19th century. The overview of each famine seeks to present its complexity and wants to illustrate that the causes and consequences are not as unambiguous as they seem at first glance.
