Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo raziskali uporabnost kapnometrije in kapnografije v nujnih stanjih. Pregled literature smo izvedli v bibliografski podatkovni bazi MEDLINE, kjer smo poiskali predvsem primarne znanstvene vire. Terciarni viri so vključevali učbenike in priročnike s področja urgentne medicine.

Secondary title: Application of Capnometry and Capnography in Emergency Medicine
Secondary abstract: In our graduate work, we investigated the usefulness of capnometry and capnography in emergency medicine. We conducted a systematic review of this topic in the bibliographic database MEDLINE, where we find a primary scientific sources. Secondary scientific sources included textbooks and manuals in the field of emergency medicine. In the results, we systematically classify the usefulness of capnography and capnometry in chronological order, depending on the formation of CO2 and its transfer by the blood to the lungs and the breath (cellular metabolism - circulation - the lungs - breathing - anatomical airways - artificial airways - respiratory system - ventilator) . The results show the maximum utility of capnography in determining the position of the tracheal tube and the subsequent control of it. According to the study of literature, we found that nurses emphasize the importance of controlling the patient sedation through capnography. Scientific publications on the subject of capnometry include prognostic of survival and evaluation of circulation. In a short survey on a sample of 20 students, we found that students of the FZV Maribor after completion of studies they have very little knowledge in this field. Our graduate work, therefore, we very deliberately reinforced the image material, to facilitate understanding of the content of capnometry and capnography.
