Secondary title: | Desselbrunner cloth factory in Selo |
Secondary abstract: | The thesis deals with the architectural and general history of the Desselbrunner mansion, built in 1765 as the residential and administrative part of the industrial complex of the cloth factory in Selo near Ljubljana. The factory was founded by the Carniolan Ländstande (territorial estates) in 1727 and flourished under the co-ownership of merchants Valentin Ruard and Josip Desselbrunner between 1762 and 1788. One of the key Ljubljana Baroque architects Lovrenc Prager, built the mansion for Josip Desselbrunner, a businessman and nobleman from Ljubljana. The mansion was built in the style of Baroque Classicism and has preserved its Baroque appearance to this day despite undergoing a number of renovations and changes of function. |
