Abstract

Ob ustreznem informiranju, spodbujanju, motiviranju in zdravstveni vzgoji vključevanje staršev in otroka v proces zdravstvene nege omogoča njihovo avtonomno odločanje, otroku pa nudi varno okolje.

Secondary title: Preparing children on the x-ray examinations
Secondary abstract: The present thesis discusses the preparation of children for x-ray examinations. The theoretical part presents particularities of children in development, pediatric radiology, preparation of children for x-ray examination and parental cooperation in x-ray examinations of children. The empirical part presents the results of research that we have performed at the Department of Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care at Ljubljana University Medical Centre. Data were gathered with questionnaires which contained 12 questions. The study included 25 medical nurses and medical technicians of the clinical care team of the Department of Paediatric Surgery and Intensive Care at Ljubljana UMC. The purpose of this study was to determine whether it is desirable that parents are present at x-ray examinations of minor children, how their presence affects the well-being of children and if these children feel less fear due to the presence of their parents. The results show that the presence of parents at x-ray examinations is desirable, since this also positively affects the well-being of children during the examination and these children feel less fear. Contamporary health care of children and adolescents is based on the partnership between the medical nurses, children and their parents. With appropriate information exchange, encouragement, motivation and health education, involving parents and children in the process of health care allows them to make independent decisions and provides safe environment for the children.
