Abstract

Dokazi so potrebni, ker je končni cilj zdravstvene nege zagotoviti kakovostno obravnavo pacientov in sposobnost izvajanja raziskav hitro postaja vedno pomembnejša. Tesno s tem je povezana sposobnost branja raziskovalnih člankov in uporaba ugotovitev v klinični praksi. Namen: Ugotoviti uporabo in odnos medicinskih sester do branja strokovne in znanstvene literature. Metode dela: Uporabili smo deskriptivno raziskovalno metodo in kvantitativni raziskovalni načrt.

Secondary title: Nurses attitude towards reading professional and scientific literature
Secondary abstract: Introduction: The clinical practice with no research is a practice based on a tradition with no confirmations and is less desirable in the modern era or practices, which are based on evidence. Evidence is necessary as the final goal of nursing is to ensure a high-quality patient care and the ability to conduct research quickly is becoming more and more important. The ability to read and use the findings of research articles is closely linked to clinical practice. Purpose: To determine the use and the relationship of nurses to reading professional and scientific literature. Methods: We used the descriptive research method and a quantitative research plan. To determine the theoretical background, we created an overview of the literature which is connected to our research topic. In the empirical research we used the descriptive approach, and the data was collected with the help of a questionnaire, which we adjusted to our topic. The question poll was accessible in the online application 1Ka. We had 97 nurses participate in the research. Results: The nurses agree that nursing is based on scientific evidence and therefore the reading of related literature is important (x̅ = 4,29, s = 0,612). They are also aware that it is their duty to read the professional and scientific literature (x̅ = 4,19, s = 0,635). The main obstacle for the majority is lack of time, as they agree that they would read more if possible (x̅ = 4,18, s = 0,722). In majority they also agree that the relationship with reading has its foundations in times of education, so schools need to adjust their focus and stress the importance of reading relevant literature (x̅ = 3,66, s = 0,945). Discussion and conclusion: The nurses participating in the question polls are aware that it is sensible to dedicate time to reading research articles. One of the important findings is that the language in the articles does not present an issue or obstacle to the nurses. They would more often read this type of literature if they had more knowledge in the field of critical analysis. They also want more encouragement from management, time slots for reading or short meetings for the purpose of reading and discussing research articles. They also expressed a wish for the availability of literature in the workplace.
