diplomsko delo
Abstract
Delo najprej analizira zgodovinsko-politično ozadje pokristjanjevanja in vprašanje kontinuitete krščanskih romaniziranih staroselcev. Nato osvetli prve poskuse pokristjanjevanja in začetne težave misijonarjev.

The conversion of the Carantaniens |
Secondary abstract: |
In Slovenian historiography, special attention has been paid to the Christianisation of the Cartantaniens, the first Slavic people to embrace the Christian faith. This was a complex process that took a long time and was accompanied by many difficulties faced by the missionaries as well as the local Christianised princes. The work first analyses the historical-political background of Christianisation and the question of the continuity of the Christian Romanised indigenous peoples. It then sheds light on the first attempts at Christianisation and the initial difficulties of the missionaries. The role of the individual ecclesiastical centres in the missionary enterprise is then explored, with the role of Salzburg often foregrounded in the historiography and the role of other ecclesiastical centres, such as Aquileia and Freising, neglected, as well as the role of the ducal initiative in Christianisation. |
