Abstract

Secondary title: The stylometric analysis of the novel Rokovnjači by Jurčič and Kersnik
Secondary abstract: The article presents an overview of the findings of Slovene literary history about the influences among the selected authors of Slovene Realism (Levstik, Stritar, Jurčič, Kersnik) with an emphasis on the novel Rokovnjači written by Josip Jurčič and completed by Janko Kersnik. In the second part we present the results of the stylometric analysis of selected prose texts by those authors, that shows theirstylistic similarities. Researchers believe that in the sequel to Rokovnjači , Kersnik tried to imitate Jurčič's style. We attempt to test this hypothesis with the computational stylistic method called "rolling stylometry". Furthermore, we show why stylometry can only support literary research to test certainhypotheses, but does not in any way replace the "classical" methods of literary science.
