Abstract

Secondary abstract: Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 virus, changes have been detected in various areas, both in the private and business lives of individuals. The consequences of the pandemic have harmed the economy and therefore many companies have faced challenges. During the crisis, corporate social responsibility changed, and in my thesis, I researched what these changes are and to what extent they are reflected. The master's thesis aimed to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on corporate social responsibility relating to employees. In the theoretical part, I first presented the concept of corporate social responsibility, with an emphasis on the internal dimension. In connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, I did an overview of events and their impact on corporate social responsibility. I qualitatively analyzed the empirical material, paraphrased the conversations before assigning them coding units and performing open and axial coding. I researched how companies behaved during the pandemic, especially in regards to their employees, what changes occurred in the workplace and how employees assessed them. I also looked at what other changes took place during the pandemic, how the company communicated about them and what technical assistance they offered. I focused on the hardships faced by the employees and how the company offered them support. I found that corporate social responsibility remained the same or improved during the pandemic particularly towards employees.
