(diplomsko delo)

Abstract

Anketiranci so v veliki meri mnenja, da si v času šolanja niso pridobili dovolj znanja, kako pristopiti in delovati v takšnih situacijah.

Secondary title: Depressive disorder on the death of a child during pregnancy or shortly after birth
Secondary abstract: We do not spent much time discussing death as it is a sort of taboo topic in the society. When the death occurs in the prenatal or in the early period of the child’s life we remain speechless. There is a huge absence of handbooks in Slovenia which could be used either by the grieving parents or health care personnel therefore they cannot use proper skills while giving support to the parents. All of the above can cause both parents and health care personnel to hide their problems and that can cause several psychological problems (especially with grieving mothers several cases of them becoming depressed as a result of not overcoming their grief have been reported). The research was done by using a structured questionnaire where the results were given in quantities. With the questionnaire we are defining the role of the medical team while comparing The University Psychiatric Hospital in Ljubljana and Psychiatric ward of the University Hospital in Maribor. The data provided has shown that both institutions are dealing with female patients demonstrating depressive tendencies after the loss of newly or unborn child. The participants of the study feel that during their school training they did not receive enough skills on how to act and react in previously mentioned situations; however most of them feel that with the length of the work, the level of stress for them noticeably reduces and when dealing with the patient who lost her child they no longer feel personally involved.
