Abstract

Comparative analysis of numerical tools for determining energy efficiency of nZEB |
Secondary abstract: |
The methodology for assessing the energy efficiency of nZEB is in the domain of member states of the European Community, however, the methodological framework is defined by standard SIST EN 52000-1. The standard contains mathematical models for dynamic and static methods for evaluating thermal response of a building and system building installations. Energy modules used in one of the most established BIM tools differ among each other, as does the creation of input data needed for numerical simulations of each tool. We will present the credibility of energy modules of the BIM tools by comparing the thermal response of transparent and non-transparent building envelope components of the pilot buildings determined by dynamic and static method. The latter is used by Slovenian national tools to determine energy efficiency indicators of buildings in terms of energy that is required for heating and cooling. Furthermore, we will highlight potential problems and advantages of individual tools for numerical simulations. The paper also includes guidelines for different possibilities and useful tips for using selected BIM tools with regard to building design and using pilot buildings with referenced systems to determine nZEB energy efficiency indicators. |
