(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
V diplomskem delu smo predstavili stres (simptomi, faze in viri stresa, opisane so značilnosti negativnega in pozitivnega stresa, posledice stresa, stres na delovnem mestu in premagovanje stresa).
Dobljene rezultate smo preučili in grafično prikazali.

How nurses experience stress in healt centres and hospitals |
Secondary abstract: |
In the graduation thesis we take a close look at stress (its symptoms, its sources and phases; the characteristics of negative and positive stress are described thoroughly; work stress and its overcoming). We also pay attention to nurses and their ways of facing stress.
The approach used in the graduation thesis analyses Slovenian as well as foreign literature and includes on-line resources. In order to gather data of the current circumstances, the investigation method applied is a questionnaire which comprises questions on nurses’ handling stress in Velenje health centre (Zdravstveni dom Velenje) and Celje hospital (Splošna bolnišnica Celje) from July to August 2009. The questionnaire consisting of closed-ended questions was delivered to a random sample of 40 nurses and medical technicians in the before mentioned institutions. The results were then analysed and presented graphically.
The aim of our research was to discover the nurses’ and medical technicians’ intensity of experiencing stress in a health centre and a hospital. At the same time we wanted to list the most common factors and reasons leading to stressful situations, compare them to scientific findings and draw up guidelines on prevention and reduction of the stressful situations at work.
We discovered that stress in a health centre is mainly the result of human interaction and the nature of work. In hospital, however, stress is usually caused by the high level of responsibility and the fact that nurses have to work in shifts. Medical staff of both, hospital and health centre, share the opinion: the occupation of the nursing team is inappropriate, work is too high of a burden and, therefore, cannot be thoroughly accomplished.
Nurses and medical technicians in health centers usually reflect stress showing a high level of sensitivity, the sense of being under pressure, preoccupied and anxious. Medical staff in hospitals, however, express stress in a form of high sensitivity, the wish to find another job, weak human interactions and preoccupation. Medical staff usually experience backache at work. |
