Abstract

Secondary title: The identification and the appearance of stress situations by students
Secondary abstract: Stress is in these days, quite normal and necessary to be active and successful on our field, but up to certain limits. When stress becomes too hard then it makes a nuisance for all of us. Students are often unaware that they have many stressful events towards the goal, which may disturb the self-confidence and their lifestyle. Therefore, we decided that we will explore the opinion of students in relation to stress, and experience of stress situations. In diploma work, we have described the stress, its history, we presented the phases of stress and stressful situations, experience of them, and the ways to clashing with them. We have also described the symptoms of stress, which show that stress was developed. We have devoted a separate chapter to stress during the study, described some of the causes of stress, which occurs in the study period, and possible ways to avoid stress, and activities to reduce stress during the study. In the empirical part we have presented the results of research that we made in 2009 among nursing students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Maribor. We obtained the results with the anonymous survey questionnaire which contained 18 closed and semi-open types of questions. The study included 81 students. We wanted to determine how often are students confronted with the phenomenon of stress and how this affects on them, and the most common causes of stress. The survey results showed that the majority of students facing with stress, and that the stress influences on their work results. We've also found that stress affects on learning of students so that they achieve a lower output than they want and that they are losing motivation for further learning.
