Abstract

Uvod: Fibromialgija je kronični sindrom razširjene mišično-skeletne bolečine, ki močno vpliva na kakovost življenja. Opazno je zmanjšanje telesne dejavnosti in upad funkcijskih sposobnosti. Pogosti simptomi so utrujenost, motnje spanja, depresija in anksioznost. Vzrok bolezni je nejasen, zato je zdravljenje usmerjeno v lajšanje simptomov. Meditativne gibalne terapije postajajo iskan nefarmakološki pristop k zdravljenju fibromialgije. Namen: Predstaviti vpliv meditativnih gibalnih terapij na bolečino, spanje in kakovost življenja. Metode dela: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili opisno metodo dela s pregledom strokovne literature. Iskanje člankov je potekalo preko elektronskih podatkovnih zbirk PubMed, PEDro in Cohrane Online Library. Rezultati: V pregled literature smo vključili osem raziskav, vse so vsebovale vsaj eno kontrolno in eno eksperimentalno skupino. Skupno je v raziskavah sodelovalo 751 preiskovancev. Rezultati so pokazali statistično pomembno zmanjšanje težav zaradi fibromialgije v sedmih raziskavah in statistično pomembno zmanjšanje bolečine v petih raziskavah.

Secondary title: Effect of meditative movement therapies on pain, sleep and quality of living in patients with fibromyalgia
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Fibromyalgia is a chronic syndrome of widespread musculoskeletal pain that greatly affects the quality of life. There is a decline in physical activity and functional abilities. Common symptoms include fatigue, sleep disturbance, depression and anxiety. The cause of the condition is unclear, so treatment is aimed at relieving symptoms. Meditative movement therapies are becoming a pursued non-pharmacological approach to the treatment of fibromyalgia. Purpose: To present the impact of meditative movement therapies on pain, sleep, and quality of life. Methods: In the diploma work we used a descriptive method of work with a review of the professional literature. The search for articles was done through the electronic databases PubMed, PEDro and Cohrane Online Library. Results: We included eight studies in the literature review, all of which included at least one control and one experimental group. A total of 751 subjects participated in the research. The results showed statistically significant reduction of fibromyalgia impact in seven studies and statistically significant reduction of pain in five studies. The results regarding sleep quality are contradictory, with four studies perceiving the statistical characteristic of differentiation between groups, and four not. Discussion and conclusion: Meditative movement therapies are safe for the practitioner and without side effects. They improve quality of life and reduce pain in fibromyalgia patients. Improvement of sleep quality cannot be confirmed. In the future, more research should be conducted for better understanding on effects of meditative movement therapies in comparison with other existing fibromyalgia interventions.
