Abstract

Rezultati naše raziskave so pokazali, da so online terapije pomembna dopolnitev k že dobro uveljavljenim terapijam v živo in predstavljajo dodano vrednost v terapevtskem procesu.

Secondary title: Therapeutic relationship in video call therapy in comparison with therapy in therapeutic office
Secondary abstract: With the master’s thesis we wanted to answer the research questions, which are the key elements of in-person therapy and online therapy, how the therapists experience the implementation of both kind of therapies, which interventions are more appropriate, or what kind of interventions the therapists use during their work. Using the grounded theory on the basis of data obtained from the interviews with the therapists we identified the advantages and disadvantages of performing therapies in person and via videoconference. The results of our research have shown that online therapies are important addition to already well established in-person therapies and provide added value to the therapeutic process. This presents the therapist with a new alternative to the existing implementation of therapy and at the same time allows the clients the possibility of performing therapy in cases where all established patterns are disabled, such as during the pandemic. In doing so, therapists are faced with different new challenges: adaptations of therapies, technical difficulties that occur during the establishment of digital contact with the client, reduced non-verbal communication etc., which required an even greater degree of responsibility towards the clients, courage and the search for new knowledge through additional education and innovative ways of implementing therapies via videoconferences.
