magistrsko delo
Abstract
V jedru magistrskega dela sledi kratka predstavitev organizacije, kjer so opisani njeni poglavitni organi, specializirane agencije in ostale mednarodne organizacije.

The United Nations, known by the acronym UN, is an international organization of which are part one hundred ninety-three countries. It was established on 24 October 1945 by fifty-one countries that after the war commited themselves to the protection and maintenance of international peace and security, the development of friendly relationship between nations, the realization of international cooperation and respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms. The organization is headquartered in New York and its current general secretary is António Guterres. At the same time, the master's thesis tries to confirm three basic hypotheses, such as the fact that the UN has left behind a set of positive and negative consequences in its seventy-five years of operation. The purpose of the thesis is to show the work of the UN during its seventyfive years of existence. In the introduction it's defined the importance of the UN in the world. A brief presentation of the organization is followed in the core of the thesis, in which are described its main organs, specialized agencies and other international organizations. Then we pass to the essence of the master's thesis. Therefore, are mentioned all of the achievements and powerlessness of the UN. The most important achievements are for example the maintenance of international peace and security, the promotion and respect of human rights, and so on. In connection with its achievements and powerlessness, the organization has also received numerous criticisms: from moral, philosophical, effectiveness criticism, all the way to diplomatic and political criticism. |
