Abstract

Secondary title: Planning and designing a user plug-in for people with special needs
Secondary abstract: In the diploma work, we planned and designed a user plugin for an online questionnaire for people with special needs. The online questionnaire helps students with or without special needs to identify needs related to the study process in higher education. We primarily focused on students with visual impairments. That is why, in the first part of the thesis, we explored the characteristics of the needs that students with visual impairments might have, and at the same time reviewed the existing websites, which represent an exemplary example of considering accessibility. This formed the basis for determining which accessibility solutions we would implement in our case. We have found that websites are still poorly adapted for people with special needs. Thus, accessibility problems arise, although the addition of such functionalities benefits all web users. The results and conclusions of our study will serve as guidelines in creating and upgrading websites suitable for all users online.
