diplomsko delo visokošolskega študijskega programa Varnost in policijsko delo
Abstract

Psychological Training of members of Special police Unit for Operative Work |
Secondary abstract: |
The main goal of this paper is to present different techniques and methods of psychological training of police special unit (SE), to be successful in their operations.
Members of SE can be influenced by different mental states and exposed to different stressors, continually influencing every member, when they enter the process of equipping for the most dangerous tasks regarding state safety, connected to terrorism and crime deeds and extreme violence. These situations must be recognized and examined to gain positive efficiency through psychological and professional training, and these are to be used in SE forces, to be properly equipped for their tasks.
Training and equipping starts with basics and slowly continues to complex preparations, connected to group dynamics. Every member should be able to gain psychological balance, homogeneous and strong character. The main goal is not to learn techniques, but to gain inner balance in every member. Some specific techniques enable members of SE to proceed properly, not only by coincidence, which could bring negative effects.
This paper is based on knowledge from Slovenian and foreign literature, but additionally some factual information were added through communication with other members in similar forces and long term experiences in SE.
There are many non-answered questions in psychological area, but this is motivation for further development and study. |
