Abstract

Secondary title: The role of nurse by patient with disturbed glucose tolerance
Secondary abstract: In this diploma paper a role of a nurse and activities performed at a patient with glucose tolerance disturbance is presented. Theoretical part describes types of diabetes, symptoms, chronic and acute complication with glucose tolerance disturbance and also some health educational measures, with which patients can palliate unpleasant disease symptoms. Special emphasis is meant for a role of a nurse at a health educational work in a view of an importance of healthy nutrition, physical activity and self-control of diabetes. Empirical base for thesis of a diploma paper was a study of a patient with glucose tolerance disturbance. A patient was examined in eleven functional patterns of a healthy behavior by Marjory Gordon and by a process method. Information about the patient's health status was collected by interview and from medical files. Based on the data collected, we found that at a patient with glucose tolerance disturbance is very important health educational care of a nurse, from whom the patient got the most relevant information about glucose tolerance disturbance as well as the self-control.
