Abstract

Magistrsko delo v začetku ponudi teoretična izhodišča za razumevanje demografskih sprememb, telesnih aktivnosti in socialne vključenosti uporabnikov v institucionalnem varstvu starih ljudi.

Secondary title: The influence of physical activities on the social involvement of the institution care users in elderly home
Secondary abstract: In the beginning the Masters Paper provides some theoretical basis for the understanding of demographic changes, physical activity and social inclusion of users in the institutionalised care-take of the elderly. It relies on modern scientific theories, according to which the demographic changes will largely affect human needs, connected with the older population, social inclusion, institutionalised care-take, physical activity and the quality of life of the elderly in general in the following years. The empirical part presents the senior citizen institute Dom upokojencev Ptuj, in which the research was conducted. Based on the answers given in the distributed questionnaire, we have presented the data about physical activity, social inclusion and the quality of life of 233 users of six senior citizens homes. In particular we have presented the impact of physical activity on the social inclusion of the users and the influence of both parameters on the quality of life of users. The research has shown that users who are more physically active, also have a larger social net and more contacts with the sources of the social net, which results in a higher quality of their lives. The main recommendation of the Masters Paper is that institutes in charge of the care-take of senior citizens should provide spatial, personnel and technical conditions for the conduction of various types of physical activity of their users, as well as motivation. Further they should provide good conditions for the qualitative inter-human relations in the institution itself. By this they will contribute to a higher satisfaction grade of the users of institutionalised care-take, as well as the satisfaction grade of the staff members, who can only be satisfied when the customers are satisfied as well.
