diplomsko delo
Abstract

Monitoring postpartum cow conditions on a specific dairy farm |
Secondary abstract: |
The purpose of the thesis was to monitor and assess the physical condition of dairy cows in the postpartum period. The evaluation, which took place from February to July 2021, included 15 dairy cows. According to the list of planned calvings, the animals were divided into three groups, 5 animals each, and they were evaluated in different time periods after birth. Animals were first evaluated for an average of 19 days after calving, where the mean score was 3.66. The second evaluation was on average 89 days after calving, the evaluation decreased to 3.4. The last, third evaluation was performed on the 145th day after calving, where the average evaluation was 3.43. In the second group, 2 animals were eliminated and died after giving birth. We came to the conclusion that animals lose their physical condition in the first 2 and 3 months, as they are in a negative energy balance. In addition to assessing physical condition, we obtained data on the amount of milk and the content of milk fats and proteins from the AT4 control. Milk fat contents were in accordance with the norms. There were deviations in the protein content, as the protein should fall in the postpartum period, while in our case the protein content increased, which we prescribed for the season. Despite the increase, we are within the norms, as the protein values did not exceed 3.80 %. |
