Abstract

Secondary title: Necessary personal characteristics of a physiotherapist
Secondary abstract: Humans are very different from each other and it is the personality that represents what kind of a person each individual is. Since working with people is completely different from working with objects, it is very important what kind of a person chooses the profession of a physiotherapist. The aim of my thesis is therefore firstly to present the profession of a physiotherapist and personal qualities he needs in order to be able to conduct their work. Secondly, to show the relationship between a physiotherapist and his patient and also the relationship between a physiotherapist and his medical team. And thirdly to explore the importance of a holistic approach to the patient and to present a biopsychosocial approach. The results of the analysis have shown that personal qualities of a physiotherapist play a crucial role in establishing relationships with patients and that they crucially influence the course of healing, too. With the help of a questionnaire we have proved that all of the employees at URI – Soča have all the personal qualities they need to successfully perform their job and practice physiotherapy.
