Abstract

Težava sociologije je po mišljenju avtorja v tem, da v vsakdanjem jeziku konstruiramo pojave, ki nato postanejo predmet naše sociološke refleksije. Pojma, ki sta ključna za pričujoče razmišljanje, sta biologija in kultura, zaradi katerih samoumevno ločujemo duševno in telesno, prirojeno in priučeno, gensko in okoljsko, naravno in družbeno ipd. V članku se avtor zavzema za preseganje konvencionalne delitve znanstvenih disciplin in za kognitivno znanost o človeku, ki bo hkrati zajemala človekove 'naravne' in 'družbene' vidike.

Secondary abstract:	According to the author the problem of sociology lies in the fact that we construct phenomena in everyday language, which later become the subject of our sociological reflection. Two concepts which are in his opinion crucial for the present analysis are biology and culture, which is why we take it for granted that a split exists between mind and body, nature and nurture, geneticand environmental, natural and social etc. In the article the author strives to surpass the conventional division of scientific disciplines and for a new cognitive science of man embracing both its 'natural' and 'social' aspects.
