Abstract

Slepe in slabovidne osebe se vsakodnevno soočajo s težavo navigacije na ulicah. Kljub napredku tehnologije se za reševanje te težave še vedno uporablja kvečjemu GPS lociranje, ki sicer uporabnika vodi do cilja, mu pa ne pomaga pri nenačrtovanih ovirah na poti. S to idejo je nastala mobilna aplikacija MyVision, ki uporabnika s pomočjo kamere in zvočnimi signali opozarja o morebitnih nevarnostih, ovirah ali spremembah na poti do željene lokacije.

Secondary abstract: Blind and visually impaired people face daily challenges regarding navigation on the streets. Despite the advancement in technology, the most common way of dealing with such problem is GPS locating, which leads the user to the destination, but does not take into account unplanned obstacles along the way. With this idea in mind the mobile application MyVision was made, which alerts the user to potential obstacles on the way to the designated location through a special camera and audio signals.
