Abstract
Zaposleni so temeljna zmožnost vsake organizacije, v stanju zadovoljstva in zavzetosti pa še toliko bolj prispevajo k pomembnim meritvam poslovne uspešnosti.

Employee satisfaction and engagement in public institution X |
Secondary abstract: |
Employees are the core capability of any organization. In a state of satisfaction and engagement, they contribute even more to important measures of business performance. Satisfaction describes the state of employee well-being and their happiness in the workplace, which is the basis for efficiency, focus and intensity, which are central characteristics of engagement. It turns out that the employees of public institution X are the most satisfied with work itself, working hours, continuity and security of employment and relations with colleagues, and least satisfied with information about current events, salary, opportunities for promotion and management of the public institution. We find that there are no differences in satisfaction between higher and lower educated employees, while we are surprised by the higher level of satisfaction of younger employees compared to older employees. Demographic factors alone cannot predict an individual's propensity for satisfaction and engagement, but it may be the result of the optimism and enthusiasm that individuals experience when starting a new job. We also analyze the satisfaction with salary and, contrary to expectations, we find that employees are satisfied with it. According to the analysis results, employees of public institution X can be marked as engaged. Employment in public institution X includes working in a specific field that can affect an individual's life outside the work context, which is undeniably a reason why management of public institution X must make efforts to improve the factors with which employees express dissatisfaction. |
