(diplomsko delo)
Abstract

Stress and workload of nurses at proning patients with covid-19 at intensive care unit |
Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has affected medical personnel around the world and led to unprecedented stress due to heavy workload. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the experience of stress nurses in finding a patient with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit.
Methods: We used a descriptive method of work. We conducted a cross-sectional observational study. Data were collected with a questionnaire. The study included 41 nursing practitioners working in the COVID-19 unit of the Intensive Care Unit.
Results: Research has shown that the level of stress when working with patients with COVID-19 is moderate to high, and the level of stress and strain that intensive care workers feel when finding patients with COVID-19 is moderate. Respondents' source of stress is the fear of injuring the patient, followed by lifting the patient, turning the patient, fear of error and subjugating the patient.
Discussion and conclusion: Improving working conditions for nurses benefits everyone, both employees and patients and their relatives. The results also indirectly reflect on the quality of medical treatment and, consequently, on the results of the institution's operations. |
