Abstract

Diplomsko delo z naslovom "Spoznavanje čebele - projektno delo v vrtcu" temelji na izvedbi projekta, s katerim smo predšolskim otrokom v vrtcu Pod gradom, starim od 2 do 4 leta, približali življenje in svet čebel ter ostalih žuželk. V teoretičnem delu smo predstavili življenje čebele, čebelo kranjsko sivko, opraševanje in domovanja. Življenje čebel smo podrobno opisali, spoznali čebelje pridelke ter se dotaknili ukrepanja ob čebeljem piku in varnosti v okolju, kjer so pomembni tudi drugi opraševalci. V empiričnem delu smo otrokom temo predstavili v okviru naravoslovnih dejavnosti, ki so se prepletala z drugimi področji kurikuluma. Seznanili smo jih s pomembnostjo čebel ter jih spodbudili k razmišljanju o možnih posledicah brez njih. Razumevanje in njihovo osvojeno znanje smo preverili z intervjuji, 10 otrok iz dveh različnih skupin pa smo še vključili v sestavljen vprašalnik, ki smo ga uporabili na začetku, v sredini ter na koncu projekta. S tem smo si pomagali pri evalvaciji projekta, ki je trajal dobrih deset mesecev. Ugotovili smo, da je otrokom način dela zelo ustrezal, saj so rezultati pokazali nadpovprečno uspešnost. Pokazalo se je, da so pridobili bogate konkretne izkušnje in izboljšali svoje znanje o pomembnosti opraševalcev. Skozi projekt so razvili spoštljiv odnos do narave in postali samozavestnejši pri reševanju naravoslovnih problemov.

Secondary title: Learning about bees: a kindergarten project
Secondary abstract: This paper, titled Learning about Bees - Project Work in Kindergarten, is based on the implementation of a project, in which we familiarised preschool children from the Pod Gradom Kindergarten, aged from 2 to 4, with the life of bees and other insects. The theoretical part presents the life of bees, the Carniolan honey bee, pollination and their habitat. We detailed the life of bees as well as their products and addressed measures that need to be adopted in case of a bee sting as well as safety in the environment where bees coexist with other pollinators. In the empirical part, we presented the topic in the context of scientific activities, combined with other fields of the curriculum. We told children about the importance of bees and encouraged them to think about possible consequences in a world without bees. Their understanding of the topic and acquired knowledge were tested through interviews; in addition, 10 children from two different groups participated in a composed survey, conducted at the beginning, during and after the project. In doing so, we were able to evaluate the 10-month project more easily. We determined that the work method suited children very much, as the results showed extraordinary performance. According to the results, children have also gained rich practical experience and broadened their knowledge on the importance of pollinators. By participating in the project, they have developed a respectful attitude towards nature and become more confident in solving scientific problems.
